David began studying finance during the height of the financial crisis. In 2008, he joined the Trust and Wealth Management program at Campbell University, where he also served as a three-year wrestling team captain. After graduating magna cum laude with an MBA and a minor in financial planning, he joined Hilltop in 2011.
As a partner and Head of People & Culture, David is passionate about fostering a healthy, values-driven culture at Hilltop—one that empowers both clients and team members to thrive. Having worked his way from the back office to becoming one of Hilltop’s most senior advisors, he brings a deep appreciation for every aspect of the business and the people who make it work. Known for his caring nature and ability to connect deeply with clients, David helps families pursue wealth that goes beyond money.
Outside the office, David and his wife, Christen, share a deep passion for adoption and have been blessed to grow their family through that journey. He enjoys dancing to classic rock with his daughter, Shiloh, playing with their son, Brooks, leading a Bible study at Summit Church, and grilling over charcoal.
