David began studying finance during the height of the financial crisis. In 2008 he joined the Trust and Wealth Management program at Campbell University, where he was also a three-year wrestling team captain. After graduating magna cum laude with a Master of Business Administration and a minor in Financial Planning, he joined Hilltop in 2011. As a caring and natural connector, David savors the personal relationships that he builds as a financial advisor.
David is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®). He learned the value of hard work early on, helping with his dad’s tree removal business in Idaho, running a chainsaw and bucking brush. In his first role at Hilltop, as a paraplanner, he delved into operational processes and financial planning strategy. He is now the head of Hilltop’s financial planning committee and the lead advisor on qualified retirement plans.
When he’s not in the office, David loves dancing to classic rock songs with his wife, Christen, and daughter, Shiloh. He leads a Bible study at Summit Church, is a longsuffering fan of the Washington Football Team, and believes meat should be cooked on a charcoal grill.
